Chris Vagasky is a meteorologist and Solutions Manager for North America at Vaisala, Inc., where he has worked for more than five years. In his roles, he helps support Vaisala’s North American customers and sales teams in matters related to upper air measurements and lightning data applications.
Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in operational meteorology and a master’s degree in applied meteorology, both from Mississippi State University. He previously worked in Oklahoma City as a weather intern, storm tracker, and fill-in meteorologist.
Chris is an active member of both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association, and serves on the planning committee for the AMS Early Career Leadership Academy, chairs the AMS Task Force on Leadership Development, and is a member of the NWA Publications Committee.
Chris’ weather interests relate to how meteorological measurements can improve weather communication, new applications of lightning data, and weather preparedness and lightning safety.
